Community Speaks Live is a monthly, virtual listening event hosted by the Restorative Justice Institute. Each gathering centers community voice on timely and meaningful topics—such as polarization, loneliness, current events, and shared social challenges—through intentional listening rather than debate.
This is not a panel, forum, or argument. Community Speaks Live is designed as a space for people to speak from lived experience, be witnessed, and be heard in a respectful, relational environment.
Each session includes brief framing from RJI facilitators, followed by community members sharing reflections and perspectives. Participants are invited to listen with curiosity, care, and presence, rather than respond or persuade. The goal is not consensus, but understanding.
Community Speaks Live is grounded in restorative values and ecosystem thinking. We believe that collective listening strengthens communities, deepens connection, and creates conditions for more thoughtful and humane responses to complex issues.
